Is it really and truly necessary for Ki to learn and know math?? He wants to be a pastor. He can hire an accountant and use calculator... right?
I feel like I am always re-teaching him everything, all over again, all the time.
But he is a very good sport about it.
I guess we'll just plod along- slowly and surely, like the tortoise.

I still don't understand math!
Oh, KIm, I feel your pain! Pat just continues to struggle with math facts. Multiplication is hard and long division is impossible! He loves Roman numerals, as if THAT'S important in 'real' life! I've just given him a mulitplication chart and am crossing my fingers that if he looks the answers up enough times, he will start to remember them. I just skipped division and went straight to fractions, which against all odds, he seems to understands completely...must be all that baking he does...LOL! Anywho, keep working at it. As one of my favorite homeschooling moms likes to say, "If you sling mud up against a wall for long enough, it will eventually start to stick.' Keep on slinging that math mud, Kim! : )

I prefer to work on making the mud of a stickier viscosity, making the side of the barn have more friction, and waiting for the ambient air temperature to be more conducive to mud sticking-ness. No sense continually slinging mud against the barn in the rain- I'm waiting for a sunnier day to do lots of mud slinging.
