belted NPA2018 weekend

DAY #10 of No Pants April. It was Casual today. Just little ol me all alone at the warehouse. Tunic-top & leggings. But I added a belt to bring this combo up from 'sloppy-leisure' (for the whimsy part of my femsical, I wore earrings my brother made me from the resistors in his old computer)

I rarely wear belts. no matter the style, they seem to hit me at an odd place and make me think I look cut in half. tis one with the little swoop looks less cut-in-half. (and you do not see the coffee spots on my shirt. I thought it was water so didn't do anything about it as I was walking out of the house)

if it were NOT No Pants April, this outfit would have been the very comfy, yet sloppy outfit you see below...

It was a bit chilly in the warehouse, so I used the belt to keep my cardigan wrapped around me.

I know. I know.
this is barely acceptable for No Pants April, I just made it my thr skin of my teeth.

Here are pictures from the weekend. (I had a headache all weekend and didn't get to blogging, I didn't even get a Saturday Picture)

Saturday: this skirt with a light grey blouse and my grey cloche hat with a red flower. Awesome earrings made from seashells.

Sunday: I wore BONES! this was my church outfit. I don't need to point out the whimsy here. I love that the lady at church told me how lovely I looked. (she must not have looked closely enough, but wearing hats fools everyone into thinking I'm fancy)

After church my headache got worse and I slept most the day.

Monday, I got up late (still headachey), got dressed for NPA2018, brushed my cat, made a to-do list, headache got worse and I went back to bed for the rest of the day. Here is the brief 30 minutes the Excedrin was working:

I need to cover my greys.

And wear make-up.

And lift weights.

How's your NoPantsApril going??

conversation

(I didn't hear the 1st part of the sentence)
".............. .............. nipples. So we cut them off"

[me]
"you cut off it's nipples??"

[youth pastor]
"No, we cut the whole thing."

He is now all the way down the steps carrying the mannequin.
The mannequin with missing arms and two holes in it's chest.

it's not actually the youth pastor's mannequin. I think it is the pastor's.

I guess when wearing the T-Shirt, the mannequin nipples showed through, so they just gave the mannequin a complete mastectomy.

I need to Lysol the openings. The mannequin chest holes smell like a stinky boys locker room.

WHY did I have this armless, boob-less, church mannequin at my house?
Because my pastor asked me to sew a Priest Outfit for the mannequin.

I won't be putting pomegranates along the bottom hem, but will find some sort of bell.

The verses say to use a braid along the neckline to keep it from tearing. So as binding. I asked if the pastor wanted me to use a brain or regular binding. He said 'regular'- But I added a 'fancy stitch'- to make up for the lack of a braid.

Today I will be looking for the fabric of 'woven blue, purple, and scarlet' and the bells.

SCHOOL TODAY:

Gavin finished his 10th Aleks topic (his weekly assignment)- so he'll be starting KHAN next week.
Connor is piddling through his last 3 topics in ALEKS, because he is spending most of his time at KHAN doing math challenges there.

The Unschooler says- Just Switch Him now! It's what he wants and what seems to work.
The responsible parent in me says : He needs to learn to finish things. It's not a bad or harmful or evil thing. He's good at it. Khan is just 'more fun'. So he can finish the Aleks.

So the Combined Mom that I really am, made the compromise of:
If the finish their weekly assignment this week- well- they can switch to Khan next week- even if they aren't at the "90% Completion Goal" we had set together.

IN OTHER NEWS: Gavin & Connor found an online art program/computer illustrator they want to buy. They pooled their finances together and had enough to purchase it.It's $60. They asked me if maybe dad could help them a little with the cost.
Well, I just paid $60 on Ki's Culinary Kit- so I am fine paying $60 for their Computer Graphics Program. I told them dad said he'd help them out with it and he'd let them know know how much later. We will be paying it- obviously,- with a credit card or Pay Pal- and they have their money to pay us back.

Elvis the Black Inked Dinosaur

Tomorrow is Monday. The Month is January. Mondays in January are C.S.I. days. Homeschool Class at our house doing Forensic Science Activities.
(To Read About our FIRST CSI Activity- a Crime Scene! click HERE Crime Scene Analysis to read about it)

Tomorrow we will be comparing tool mark impressions, doing a few Challenges from here. and I will be using a cool Murder Mystery Investigation! My friend, Rima, had purchased it for her and her daughter and sent it to us when she was finished. It's a DVD with a murder mystery, suspects, evidence, crime logs.... I look forward to trying it out! Rima just started blogging, too! She is a brand new blogger- so please go visit her blog and tell her HI!

THANKS RIMA for letting us use the Murder Mystery Lesson!
Today my pastor made this smirky face.it was awful. It looked just like Elvis.
like this: but worse. It was bad. Elvis gives me the CREEPS!

BUT- on the bright side (if there can be one after that), Pastor Aaron is back. I love his sermons. They are always chock-full of information. data. Research material. words. origins of words. He talks fast to get all the info in. My brain loves the constant stream of new information.

So, I went to get out my pen to write notes. EMERGENCY! All I had was a black pen.I do not own a black pen (how did it get into my bag?). I do not use black pens (yes, I am racist when it comes to pens. I accidently offended someone once.) I went to get one of the pens in the back off the seats. It was black ink, too. I begged asked Brian for the van keys so I could go search for a colored ink pen. I needed it quickly, as Pastor was getting ready to start. Brian laughed at me.

He asked Connor to go get me a pen. Connor grabbed a Black Pew Pen and handed it tome.I told him I can't use black. He laughed at me.

I grabbed the keys from Brian and run to the back of the church to ask Christie is she has a non-black-ink pen I can borrow (before I went to check the van- to save time). She gave me an odd look, but did not laugh. (because I had told her not to laugh at me, but I needed a non-black ink pen so I could take notes)

At home, Connor asked why I hate black ink pens so much. (and called me racist). I told him I think it is because they remind me of writing with a pencil. I can not stand writing with a pencil.
He asked what was bad about the way pencil looks. It old him it is more the sound. That scratching on the paper sound the lead makes. (and the lines are somewhat smudged). Seeing the black ink reminds me of how the pencil sounds and feels and that makes my teeth itch.

So, my pastor looks like Elvis sometimes and they only have black ink pens. It is grounds for finding a different church almost. But my pastor usually looks like a pachycephalosaurus . I like pachycephalosauruses. And you can't beat the sermons! So I guess I'll be staying despite the Black Pew Pens and Elvis Smirk.

STAY TUNED for our CSI CLASS Update from tomorrow's activities!
