belted NPA2018 weekend

DAY #10 of No Pants April. It was Casual today. Just little ol me all alone at the warehouse. Tunic-top & leggings. But I added a belt to bring this combo up from 'sloppy-leisure' (for the whimsy part of my femsical, I wore earrings my brother made me from the resistors in his old computer)

I rarely wear belts. no matter the style, they seem to hit me at an odd place and make me think I look cut in half. tis one with the little swoop looks less cut-in-half. (and you do not see the coffee spots on my shirt. I thought it was water so didn't do anything about it as I was walking out of the house)

if it were NOT No Pants April, this outfit would have been the very comfy, yet sloppy outfit you see below...

It was a bit chilly in the warehouse, so I used the belt to keep my cardigan wrapped around me.

I know. I know.
 this is barely acceptable for No Pants April, I just made it my thr skin of my teeth.

Here are pictures from the weekend. (I had a headache all weekend and didn't get to blogging, I didn't even get a Saturday Picture)

Saturday: this skirt with a light grey blouse and my grey cloche hat with a red flower. Awesome earrings made from seashells.

Sunday: I wore BONES! this was my church outfit. I don't need to point out the whimsy here. I love that the lady at church told me how lovely I looked. (she must not have looked closely enough, but wearing hats fools everyone into thinking I'm fancy)

After church my headache got worse and I slept most the day.

Monday, I got up late (still headachey), got dressed for NPA2018, brushed my cat, made a to-do list, headache got worse and I went back to bed for the rest of the day. Here is the brief 30 minutes the Excedrin was working:

I need to cover my greys.

And wear make-up.

And lift weights.

10 & Again

Ten of what?

Again? What again?

You see, there was this girl who liked to sew. One day she realized she had been buying fabric exponentially quicker than she can sew things.

A sewing fairy came to her and suggested she stop buying fabric until she had sewn all the fabric she already had/

A sewing gnome sprang up and laughed in the face of the sewing fairy. Claiming her suggestion was ludicrous and totally impossible! The sewing gnome suggested the girl  not even entertain the idea of such impracticality. She can buy fabric if she so pleases!!


Then along comes Persephone the Sewing Cat. With her small mew she suggests a path of compromise and logic.

She suggests I sew 10 things before I buy more fabric again.
 This sounds reasonable and doable.

She reminds me I can't just play the system, I have to sew 10 legit things. Sewing 10 placemats doesn't count. but a dress, a blouse, PJs,  a set of 6 placemats, etc. 3 tops count as 1 legit item.

She's bossy.

So. here I am on my journey. "Sewing 10 to buy fabric again"

Just the striped top here, so just 1/3 point. I like  side bust darts, dart give good shaping.  But darts with stripes makes like arrows pointing to, well.... yep. I'll wear the cute cardigan with this, too.

I made 2 tops, not pictures. 2/3 points...

I think the total is 6 points!

And I have some new things for NO PANTS APRIL!!

Dragons and Chopsticks

First Things first-
 My seeds for my winter garden never sprouted. They were a bit old. Oh, well.

Next Things next-

I have been sewing a lot.
Because I have been buying too much fabric. (is there really such a thing?)

I'm getting ready for NO PANTS APRIL! Adding a few items- filling a few gaps (I need some solid color basics)

I decided to name my fashion style.

I am going with "Femsical"
Feminine and Whimsical.
 Today:

I am a DRAGON!
Wearing my Dragon Scale top. It is soft, drapey, feminine- and a DRAGON!
My long, flowy, feminine style skirt-- is the Rubble on the floor of the Dragon Cave!

and my earrings are DRAGONflies! It's like wearing a pun!

DO I match? eh-maybe not. I'm going for "casually coordinates"

Can I make a fun story based on my outfit? You Bet!

(can't see it well, my one of my favorite bracelets. A gift from my husband. Tiny black pearls with a bronze bead)

Yes, that is a chopstick in my hair.
Yes, it has a cat painted on it.
Yes, the cat has a surfboard.
It is a SURFING CAT CHOPSTICK!
